We have a new exciting opportunity for an individual who excels within a fast paced, challenging and hugely rewarding environment to be a Technical Training Instructor.

The Role:

To work as part of a team of Technical Instructors at JLR and deliver Technical training to a high standard in order to fulfill the objectives of the Jaguar Land Rover Technical training Department.

Position Summary:

  • Deliver Technical training as detailed in the Department schedule to JLR standards and in line with the JLR assets and Trainer’s Manual / Guide to satisfy the annual training volume objectives and personal objectives.
  • To design and conduct delegate assessments and other ‘On the Job’ competency assessments in line with the ‘Jaguar Land Rover Learner Journey’.
  • Prepare workshop vehicles with training faults, clear all vehicle faults after training and apply vehicle quality checks ensuring the safe and effective delivery of training and upkeep of the Company vehicles to comply with the JLR Company fleet rules and regulations.
  • Promote and drive ‘Customer First’ behaviors that encourage a positive attitude, encourage teamwork and promote the JLR Academy.
  • Undertake responsibility for administration duties related to delivering training, e.g. handouts, iPad uploads, manuals and course exercises.
  • Prepare the learning environment and resources, including setting up course tool boxes, IT equipment and workshop equipment as required.
  • Act as an ambassador for training, proactively demonstrating good practice and promoting the Academy and Technical training.
  • Ensure annual delegate satisfaction target is achieved on all courses delivered in order that the JLR annual objective target is met as a minimum.

  • Competent IT Skills – All Microsoft Office Packages.


  • Industry recognized delivery accreditation.
  • Experience of utilising technology in the delivery of training such as webinars, social media.
  • Ability to maintain a dynamic and engaging delivery style at all times.
  • Experience of working in a learning & development department.
  • An understanding of assessment tools and their links to learning & development.
  • Experience of developing others.
  • An understanding of blended learning and its application.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of L&D.
  • Brand knowledge.
  • Able to commute to Leamington Spa
